The following is an open letter to anyone who would like to help support RichLefko.Com by advertising their business....or for just contributing money to help support the site.
This is an open memo, describing the support we need here at RichLefko.com.
We've reached a milestone here at richlefko.com...our 30,000th visitor.
I have had visitors hit the site from all over the United States as well as Europe, Asia, Canada, Australian.
The success of the site has exceeded anything I ever imagined, which would be easy since I had no expectations when I started this up some 3+ years ago.
I wish I could share all of the stories and "thank you(s)" I have received since the site started, from people whose very lives may have been saved by the forecasts and emails I have sent out.
This is the reason I have kept the site going.
I've been engaged over the past 6 months working on a re-tool of the web site, it's navigation, content etc., and I find myself at a crossroads:
To continue to improve the site, I need more web-space.
I am unable to add more content, or upgrade the interface due to this constraint.
As I see it, I have three choices:
1) Continue just the way it is
2) Close it down
3) Move to a new host.
Each one of these has some type of problem.....
1) To continue to leave things as they are is a problem. The Earthlink hosting solution has been rife with problems. Site downtime, and access continues to be a problem for me, and since I do have a real job and a life, anything that adds more time to this pursuit is unwelcome.
2) I don't want to close it down.
I think options 3 is the desired solution.
3) I need to move to a new host. This will give me more space and a reliable service. Allowing me to spend less time (eventually) and add additional content to make the site more useful.
The hold up is cost. The hosting solution I want to engage is more costly that what I am now paying. Hosting solutions are not super expensive...we're not talking thousands of dollars. However, there is a cost, plus other costs (yearly domain fees, software, services etc.) that I have covered out of pocket since the site began.
So I have decided to offer limited advertising space on the site, and I am hoping you can help support the site, by buying some space.
I have given this great thought.
Up to this point, other than the generous people who have contributed prizes for our various contests, all costs and work to keep this site up and alive have been mine.
Let me be clear. Making a profit from the site is not my objective.
Covering my out of pockets costs to maintain and upgrade the site is the goal.
What will you get for your money:
In addition to the ad on the site, you'll get the benefit of being mentioned at least once a week in my weekly weekend forecast E-Mail (Platinum Advertisers) and may also be included in the Weather Advisory blasts I send out when bad weather is imminent.
That means well over 13,000 people will see your link, email address or phone number over the course of a year.
I can show your logo, link to your site, or if you don't have a site, I will put up your business name and phone number, or any other info you'd like to show. In addition, if you have sales or special deals you'd like to run during the year, I can highlight these in both the site and the emails.
Of course, if you'd like to help support the site anonymously, that would be welcome as well.
New- for 2008 - We'll be having monthly and annual contests to increase site traffic!!!
What will this cost?
An ad posted for one year on the home page (and the sponsor page) - $100/year (Platinum)
An ad posted for one year on my sponsor page - $50/year (Gold)
By the way...Space will be limited. I won't be covering the site with ads, so if you are interested, letting me know early is a very good idea.
